The Strip
The 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard packed with the megaresorts — Bellagio, Venetian, Caesars Palace, and dozens more. Walking end to end takes hours in the heat, so pick a few casinos to explore rather than trying to see all of them in one trip.
Fremont Street Experience
Downtown's pedestrian mall under a massive LED canopy that puts on synced light-and-music shows every hour after dark. Grittier, cheaper, and more old-school Vegas than the Strip — worth the short rideshare or bus ride north.
Bellagio Fountains
Free choreographed fountain shows run every 15-30 minutes in front of the Bellagio, visible from the sidewalk or a room with a Strip view. One of the best free things to do in the city, especially at night.
Cirque du Soleil & Residency Shows
Multiple permanent Cirque du Soleil productions run on the Strip, alongside major headliner residencies. Prices vary hugely by night and seat location — check third-party discount ticket sites and weekday shows for better deals.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
A 13-mile scenic drive with hiking trails and striking sandstone formations, only about 20-25 minutes from the Strip. Go early morning to beat both the heat and the crowds; a timed-entry permit is required during peak season for the scenic drive.
Hoover Dam
About 45 minutes from the Strip, straddling the Nevada-Arizona border. Walk across the bypass bridge for the classic photo, or book a guided tour to go inside the dam itself. Combine with a stop at Lake Mead if you have a full day.
High Roller Observation Wheel
A 550-foot observation wheel at The LINQ with enclosed, air-conditioned cabins — a good option for skyline views without the heat exposure of an outdoor deck. Happy-hour pricing (with drinks included in some cabins) is available at certain times.
The Sphere
The giant spherical venue near the Venetian, wrapped in an LED exterior visible from much of the Strip at night, hosts immersive concerts and film experiences inside. Worth seeing lit up even if you don't go inside.
